<lj:music>None But the Lonely Heart - Joshua Bell</lj:music>

Everybody keeps us nagging our group about how we're about to graduate, and almost out into the unemployed figures (because while we're students, we're NOT unemployed XD), and here I am, thinking of things to do with my hard-earned freelancer money that'd please my inner three year old.

Did you guys see the Meteor Shower last wednesday? We did - my little brother and I went out until almost one in the morning and laid down on the ground to see them - granted, we didn't see the major show, but I had school the next day. Still, it was awesome. Next one up, Orionids on October 21!

On sunday Le Boyfriend and I (and the whole of his family) went swimming to his older brother's new place - he just got married and his apartment has a communal pool, so we decided we'll make full use of it. So right now I'm writing with my back burned, because apparently SPF 85 isn't enough to fight the noon sun. :S

And on school stuff, I NEED to get proper music for my shortcut. Basically, I'm willing to kill for a somewhat-five minute piece of classical music, with either piano or strings, that works from a happy emotion into an 'in-love' sort of thing and finally into a sad bit to close (IF possible) with a reprise of the happy one. On wednesday I'll go ask with the people from our local orchestra to see if they have anything, because BOY, I need to start working! 72,000 frames need to be drawn in three months!!! D: *tries not to panick*

Let me go back to happy thoughts. Adrian and I will be together for a year now on September 5th. :D This is what I wanna give him. :) (PICU, IF YOU'RE READING THIS STAY AWAY. SPOILERS! SPOILERS! SPOILERS!!!! :P) Because, you know. He likes this stuff.

<lj:music>42 - Coldplay</lj:music>

I shall post real quick because I MUST. Before I go and write thesis.

The first week back in school was weird, very weird. I'm going back home by public transport, but since the route doesn't stop near my home I must walk about a mile - which would be fine if it weren't for the street's inclination - I climb about three stories. You all know what a pain it is to walk on a leaned street, right?

Anyway, we have a different teacher as thesis advisor this semester - not that I care, I'm still going with my old teacher, Isabel, since she's also by now a personal friend of mine. We do it against the rules, haha. By now, the new teacher (who also happens to be the one who decides in the end whether our work is thesis-valid or not, which may be why we're stuck with him in the first place) has managed to stood us up twice. We have classes on wednesday and friday during our first two hours - from 7:00 am till 9:00, and he doesn't show up! You can imagine how much we love him by now. The experiment now is: will he show up at all? Tune in next wednesday.

When it comes to the thesis, though, I am now facing the biggest work-load of my life. I'm attempting to animate around five minutes in five months, by myself. So yeah, wish me luck.

I just hope my inner procrastinator (who's normally not that inner) doesn't show up on this projet. Yep.

Oh, here's some artsies.

PS: Hey, the location detector works! :D

<lj:music>Hunchback of Notre Dame's Soundtrack</lj:music>

So... hi. :3 You guys still remember me?

I had thought of breaking the awkward silence with a list of reasons why I hadn't updated in such a long time, but they kept getting wilder and wilder - so much, that by number 53 I had stuff like "My underwear caught fire", "The Kryptonite shipment got delayed", "I was recruited by the undercover-secret spy agency of the secret underworld world" and "I was at the Patagonia saving lives".

The truth is, I believe, even more ridiculous. I somehow lost the routine. I spent such a long time without my computer and my internet, that by the time I got it back I didn't feel the need to turn it on and do anything. Hence, two months passed.

Amazing how certain Pavlov was.

Anyway, I intend to be back on business as usual from now on. I have quite a bit of things to tell you, and so that I don't forget, I shall list them as follows:

Coldplay!!!
Comic-Con!!
...Work stuff
Sickness (BLAH!!)
Last semester at school ZOMG! D:
Panic at said last semester.
Thesis advances.

It's so good to be back around!

PS: Who knew there's a limit as to how many entries you can go back at your flist? Turns out, the limit is 760. Yep.

    <lj:music>Falling Away With You - Muse</lj:music>

God, I'm sorta bored!!! D:

Oh, btw - this is my weekend with my lap-top. My Saturday with my lap-top, to be more accurate. XD Adrian's been taking care of it, and Penunuri - a friend of ours - is happy to leave notepads with notes on my desktop which I'm reading and answering and laughing at now. They're adorably crazy. :)

But the problem is, I've been left a couple of times withour A THING to do. I don't watch much tv, and most of my spare time is spent in the interneitz, so now that I've been deprived of my lap-top I've returned to my childhood and have been reading. A LOT. Everytime I hold a brush or a pencil I don't seem to have the pulse I need - I've messed up two watercolors so far, so I've concluded that my source of power is the internetz. XD

Luckily for me, these two evil-doers are taking me to the beach tonight. It's freaking cold in june, but we'll go play on the beach and have fun.

Now, seriously. Here's a killer squirrel.

<lj:music>Erasure - Love to hate you</lj:music>

My mom and I went to the opera yesterday, to see Elixir d'Amore. It was wonderful - but I must admit, I didn't feel as captured by it as I did with Lucia di Lammermoor or the Barber of Seville.

Anyway...

I may lend Adrian my lap-top for his intersemestral class - I'm trying to pretend that I'm fine with it, but the truth is that I'm terrified. I absolutely trust him, and I want to lend him my lap, but the sole thought of someone else grabbing it without me watching and plugging their dirty USB's on it, and infecting it with viruses and ruining my work's sole copies... jeez. I may have to do some back-up's.

And on really, really crappy news, my iTunes player hates me. I use iTunes because of it's wonderful universallity, and so far I've been faithful to it since 2005. Now, after four years of using it, it refuses to play random albums JUST because it wants to. It's infuriating: the file is where it needs to be, I've uninstalled and re-installed it several times, and yet it won't-play The Mummers, Phillippe Jaroussky, La Traviata or the Tudors Season 2... could it be it has acquired a life and a taste of it's own??

And so, while I desperately try to understand Winamp since it seems to be the only player that allows me to listen my beloved .m4a files...

Here's an evil character I created for my cinema class early in the semester. Or my evil lap top lurking at me through iTunes...

PS: Adrian, in an effort to take me away from my confort zone*, has dared me to draw nothing but what he tells me to during the holidays. This week's challenge, DINOSAURS.

*That'd be, courtiers, centaurettes, mermaids, girls, children, princesses, fairies... in case you were wondering.

<lj:music>You Won't be Satisfied (Until you break my heart) - Ella Fitzergald & Louis Arms</lj:music>

Well, it's finally done. My eight semester's through, and I'm about to
start my last term of summer holidays EVAH, after celebrating my last official Student's day EVAH. *tear* :C

I've already started working with other things I had missing, and so, here's pirategurl32133 's commission for a portrait of Anne Boleyn:

It's a Work in Progress, just the pencil rough, but I'm pretty much liking the way it's coming off.

So!! As to life post-thesis, here's what's happened in 7 words or less per sentence:

1. Celebrated with samba drums Student's day.
2. Got to see advanced screening of "Up"
3. ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT.
4. Went to see Angels & Demons
5. DON'T LIKE IT. I MOURN THE BOOK.
6. Made a 'Henry VIII's wives' Web Site
7. Does anybody know how-to post Flash stuff?
8. 'How-to' is just one word. u.u
9. Ended as 'Henry VIII's <strike>6</strike> 3 wives'.
10. Lack of time.
11. My brother started working at Blockbuster.
12. I HAZ FREE MOVIEZ!!! 8D
13. I finished my Thesis part 1.
14. All I gotta do now is the
15. Animated Shortcut.
16. I also went to Ponylandia! :D
17.

18. GLEEEEEEEE. :3
19. There were no unicorns. :C
20. I am getting ready now for Comic-Con.
21. And finally, there are TENTATIVE PLANS to visit Sydney during December. That if, of course, Adrian and I manage to save each the 600 dlls for the passage + expenses there.

...but Sydney!!!!! 8D even the sole thought gives me the chills!! C:

<lj:music>No Controles - Cafe Tacuba</lj:music>

I hope you guys had a great Cinco de Mayo. :D

I've never really understood why there's so much fuzz around this date - it's not the most important mexican holiday!, but it was sad to see it celebrated like this, with "mexicanophobia" around the world and people (and children!) being brought back home after what we should call an "imprisonment for discrimination". Wrong, world, wrong.

We, however, decided to celebrate - but not the Battle of Puebla where we heroically fought the french (XD). No, Adrian and I have been together for eight months now. And since I had to go to the Blick's downtown San Diego to buy a canvas for the painting I'm making for pirategurl32133 , and bring back the thesis books to the library since they couldn't be renewed one more time, we decided to spend the day there.

After the library and one of us desperately wanting a bathroom (guess who! XD), we went to Target. And had fun at the toys department.

Now, for you to understand this picture:

Relationship fun and nauseatingly cute fact #1: His friends call him "Pony" since highschool. And as you may know if you've followed this journal for a while now, if you had asked my four-year -old-self (or two-year old, or ten-year old... or twenty two-year old) what I wanted for christmas/my birthday/children's day/lunch, I'd have said "A PONY :D" Talk about law of attraction.

Wonder what the man in the back is thinking...

Random wall at Little Italy, S.D. I had a great time at the Blick's looking at colors and pastels and brushes... and canvas and paper and paintings and moleskins (MOLESKINS!!! :D)... but we were hungry. And we headed to Horton Plaza.

There we were attacked by hungry birds who wanted our hot-dogs. Their nests are built on Nordstrom, so what did you expect?

I took this picture when he wasn't looking. I like it. :)

After buying my mom's Mother's day present (I got her a gorgeous green dress at Forever XXI), we went and bought his mom's. Which turned out to be loads more fun than mine. He bought her mom a box of chocolates at See's candies, you see - but she only eats white chocolate. SO, guess who had to try and test EVERY chocolate we put in the box? But it was done only for the sake of Mother's day. U.U

...I want more lemon-filled chocolates...

Da Cutenesssss!!!! :D (we're tired and hyper from chocolate in this shot, btw).

And then we went to Petco to have fun watching little animals. <lj:music>...something on the 91x</lj:music>

I just finished watching Marley and me with Adrian and my little brother Pedro.

...Darn movie! I already knew what happened at the end - I got spoiled by the local radio station - but I STILL CRIED MY EYES OUT!!! D':

*sniff*

Of course, this may have to do with the fact that I recently had to let Coco go. My poor baby was suffering with the new house, since she had around a sixteenth of what space she had in our other address, so... David took her first. But then his little son Bruno turned out to be allergic to dogs. So now, a teacher's ex-husband has her. I didn't even get to say good-bye.

*HUGE SIGH*

So... yeah. Life goes on. I've still got Candy, my poodle. Darn movie.

Oh yeah, and still in swine flu - ¡PARDON ME! - H1N1 influenza A. We don't want any flying pigs sacrificed for people's health sake. IT'S A FLUUUUUUUU. FLUUUUUUU... is it just me or it's funny saying that? FLUUUUUUUUUUUU.

And I got to see this for real the other day when Adrian and I were at the Blockbuster. None of this came out of my imagination - I just interpreted. (Maybe that's why Pixar wouldn't take me... >_> XD).

XOXO :)

PS: Happy children's day. <lj:music>Red Blooded Woman - Kylie Minogue</lj:music>

Here's a sketch of some of my friends from school, waiting for the Cinema professor to arrive. We're that active.

On monday, we're doing this thing where the eighty-something design students will get on previously-sorted teams, and work all day long until seven pm (12 hours) to deliver the secret project they'll be handing us on monday. Might be fun, but I swear: the prospect of working with people I don't know - and being the "leader" freaks me out. Oh yeah, because us older students from sixth to ninth semesters will be leading the team. Yargh.

I've got a million things to do, on the other hand. So just as a reminder for myself, let me list them:

- Storyboards for the Shortcut we're filming. Coki hasn't sent the script and the scenes we'll be filming this week yet. So I can't do that...
- Storyboards for said Shortcut, but for the animated bit that I'm directing/animating/brewing coffee for.
- Write some more thesis!! I'm way behind on that!!!!
- Figure out why everytime I write my cursor goes crazy and gets into some other part of the text.
- It may be my hand on the lap top's cursor... >_>
- Design the six wives of Henry the Eight - and Henry VIII himself - for the little flash web-site I'll animate.
- Yeah, it definitely is my hand on the lap top's cursor. XS
- <strike>Go have fun with my friend Peñuñuri in a couple of hours (whaaaat???? )</strike> done :)
- Create a calendar that was due for last month.
- Create some e-mail graphics due for last month too. (XS)
- Call Mr. Cienfuegos so that I can do my homework with his company (will fill you on that one later).
- Paint a couple of comissions.
- DRAW. Comic-con's my next chance for a portfolio review.
- And perhaps, finding out a way to reach peeps such as Andreas Deja, James Baxter or Eric Goldberg, and ask them kindly to review my stuff if only lightly.

So... I'll start with the things that were due for last month. XD

Kisses to all!!

Happy Earth Day, peeps!!! :D

So, it's over. After many nights, loads of stress, wars with insecurities and coffee, I finished it, I sent it - and I finally got the internet back on my new house.

And between you and me, I've already got an answer. Nopety no. XD

I'm not sure of whether this answer is based on my on-line application or on my portfolio as well, because I sent both of them on the same day (the 14th) and the fulminating e-mail arrived on the 15th during the afternoon (and my portfolio got delivered on the morning), but I'm going to assume they meant "NO" and stop messing with my head instead of a "maybe, maybe not, but let me see and we might call."

In the end, let's face it: it wasn't likely at all for me to get it. Which is also cool, since I never noticed (I SWEAR! ) that the internship was for three MONTHS during the summer - I always read WEEKS. XD Which is hilarious considering that I supposedly know how to read. Guess I should doubt my abilities there...

So! Moving on! I still have thesis to write (like just now) and animations to try and make. My cinema teacher is about to kill me since I haven't done a thing - storyboards, animation, nothing. And I also want to animate a flash clip, so I can start experimenting with it - I'm making an animation on Henry VIII for a kid's fictitional web site. Plus, you know, the thesis.

The plan for now is AVOID the friends list - I'll just keep going back and I won't be able to stop. So WHAT'S UP YOU GUYYYYYYZ??? 8D Fill me in!!!!!

<lj:music>Cantina Calavera - Ballena de Jonás</lj:music>

ZOMG, we're just obsessed with the pupe dolls right now. XD Every single class we have at the computer's lab we're changing and buying clothes - all four of us. We've even managed to induct a teacher to join it. XD

So. Thesis report: None. I'm writing the first chapter, which is basically justify WHY it's important to do this and WHAT I'm going to bring to the design world. And I have no clue. I'm mostly doing this because I want to. So... I'll have to find out WHY else.

And in other news, I have loads of comissions, apparently - which is great since I need the moneyz. Portrait comissions, a mermaid like the one I have in oil pastels and a coloring job for David, for a music band that's recording their demo and want the illustration for their demo cover. They're awesome - SERIOUSLY, if you have five minutes, click here. Seriously.

AND GUESS WHO'S GOING TO SEE COLDPLAY ON JULY???? :D :D :D :D

I'll try and catch up with the flist now. I've been without internet since last friday - you can imagine how that went. :S Hideous. Amazing how much you depend from a computer!!!

Anywayz. Another Photoshop complimentary joke-work I made for my friends - they wanted to evoke a BackStreet Boys look.

I adore them. XD

<lj:music>Freak on a Leash - Korn</lj:music>

It's really cold and rainy over here, and I'd be enjoying it even more if I wasn't sort of sick and if Coco just stopped taking her blanket out to run under the rain with it. XD

Candy doesn't approve.

Classes have been amazingly frightening - I need to start my thesis NOW? Seriously, WHAAAT?? O_o

*hides under the bed*

I've always wanted to make an animated shortcut for my thesis from a small screenscript I wrote on my fourth semester two years ago that I think I've mentioned once or twice, but we're talking of writing the thesis AND making the shorcut in a year. Five minutes - which usually take two years to make for a crew of around 30 people.

David said he'd help in what he cans. C:

Luckily, I have Isabel (who's my favorite teacher ever) as my thesis director, and also a new teacher who's just teaching us Cinema and who's just darn amazing, Jaime, who's going to asses me as well. That should work, I hope. I'll let you know what happens with it.

And as of Cinema, it's a GREAT class. We're all fascinated and want it to be every single day - so far we've watched Thesis in class and Coraline yesterday out of the blue altogether at the movies - and he's just so funny and soooo knowledgeable (he met Guillermo del Toro once!!! :D), that is' sheer joy to be in his class.

My friend Peñuñuri just won an autographied Raunchy cd on a photo contest in myspace. I don't have even a clue of who Raunchy is, but he wanted it so badly - so I took the picture once we went out dancing and <strike>helped him</strike> ok, DID the Photoshopping.

Personally, I think it's lousy - but the guys at the band liked it and picked him as a winner.

PS: GUESS WHO MIGHT (MIIIIIGHT) GO AND SEE COLDPLAY IN JULY???? :D :D :D :D

<lj:music>nothing! O_O</lj:music>

I received my schedule for this semester through e-mail yesterday. Things won't be as heavy as I expected them to be, which means I'll have more time to draw - although I'm sure this isn't what was intended. I bet you this was planned this way so we could "work as almost-professional-designers that we are". OR are supposed to be.

The guy from videogames didn't contact me again after he called - he said he'd teach me everything he knows, and how I'd be so much happier doing conceptual art than doing animation, blah blah blah, and then he finally understood (because I had told him before and I have the e-mails to prove it!!! ) that I'm still in school, that I haven't graduated, and that I'd be working part-time. So my guess is he bailed out. Luckily, I don't mind anymore. Much.

Anyway, back to my schedule. I'll have Sets and Scenography, Corporate Design, Web Design, Advanced Illustration, Introduction to Cinema and an Investigation Seminary as subjects. Just six compared to the usual eight or seven. Hence, on Monday and Friday I start at 7 am - but on Thursday and Wednesday at 10, and on Thursday at 9 am. Which is glorifying compared to the 7 am full week of the last... six out of seven semesters. And every day I get out at 2 pm.

Now I just hope my dad finds a way to get me a car, because if he doesn't I'll still arrive at 7 am everyday - since it's the single time my mom can drive me and it's horrible to get there by public tranport carrying the amount of stuff we carry.

And if I have more time to draw - I can get a better portfolio. I want to get into Disney or Pixar, mister! I gotta work hard!
